LECTURE
Author and historian, Dr. Christopher Leahy will deliver an overview of the historical significance of Impeachment in the United States: 
  • insights on impeachment 
  • its historical basis
  • constitutional significance 
  • the impeachment process
Additionally Dr. Leahy will share details from his forthcoming book--President without a Party: The Life of John Tyler--on the 10th US President John Tyler who, in a little-known episode of our history, was the first American president to contend with the threat of impeachment. 

The lecture will be followed by a question-and-answer conversation.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:  
Dr. Christopher Leahy, author and Professor of History at Keuka College, in Keuka Lake, NY is an expert in the American Colonies; the American Revolution; and the Early National Period, and is formerly assistant professor at SouthEastern Louisiana State University.

NOTE:
Advance parameters will be set to insure the lecture and questions do not go off topic and are neither partisan nor polemical.
We will stop the questioning if questions stray from the facts of the topic.
